Jolandi Engelbrecht
Medical Orthotist/ Prosthetist
Jolandi Engelbrecht is a Medical Orthotist/ Prosthetist that finished her B.Tech degree at the Tshwane University of Technology in 2010. She completed her practical experience at the 1Military Hospital where she studied feet and foot scanning technology in depth with the High Tech Orthotic Department. She scanned numerous soldiers and manufactured innersoles for them, using various techniques, such as: 3D-printing, milling as well as hand molding.
She worked under Juliet Morgan, a successful Orthotist and Triathlete, where she scanned and manufacture innersoles for numerous serious athletes to improve times and running posture as well as minimize any stress and pain.
In 2012 she acquired her own RS Foot scanning plate for her own practice and has been practicing independently since.
Jolandi can scan feet and prescribe footwear and foot orthoses and works with general orthotics such as back braces, maternity belts, compression stockings and wrist braces.
She completed her Master’s Degree in Maxillofacial Prosthetic Rehabilitation at the King’s College (UK) and is currently a registered member of the International Anaplastology Association. She manufactures silicone prosthesis for the face, fingers and toes and fits breast prostheses and mastectomy bras.
What is the RS Scan?
It is a static plate that a patient walks or runs on. This plate electronically picks up pressure areas and alignment faults. Using this data a custom made innersole is manufactured to alleviate foot, knee and lower back pain you might have due to misalignment.
